At Labelexpo Europe, which will be held from September 23 – 26, 2009 in Brussels, Lüscher AG Switzerland will present for the first time their new XPose! 4FLEX in hall 7, booth 7M60. XPose! 4FLEX is the first platesetter in the world able to image printing forms for four different printing technologies: letterpress, flexo, screen and offset printing.
Label printers using hybrid printing presses such as Gallus RCS 330/430, which combine flexo or offset or both as well as screen printing, can produce printing forms for all three technologies with the same XPose! 4FLEX.
Label printers who have Letterpress currently can digitalize their plate production in combination with whatever other process they are using or are likely going to use in case of new investments.
Packaging printers, in particular Label Printers, who want to add flexo capabilities to offset printing and, conversely, flexo or letterpress printers who want to integrate offset capabilities will also benefit from the flexibility offered by XPose! 4FLEX.
4FLEX makes it possible due to the combination of two completely different imaging systems in one platesetter.
High power thermal diodes with a wavelength of 940 nm ablate the mask to image digital flexo and letterpress plates.
Blue laser diodes with a wavelength of 405 nm expose directly with UV light analog screen plates and conventional offset plates.
The best of both worlds: Proven ablation technology on one hand, benefits and robust features of analog plate technology on the other hand with unmatched return on investment.
Printers using non-chemical ablative thermal offset plates can produce their printing forms with XPose! 4FLEX as well, since the ablated layer is safely removed by vacuum, just like for flexo and letterpress plates. Finally, ablative film can be imaged easily replacing film setters.
